Under the theme <strong>\u201cPlaces of Faith: Memory, Spirituality and the Pilgrim\u2019s Experience\u201d<\/strong>, the 2026 meeting proposes an in-depth reflection on the spiritual, cultural and human value of places of faith.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Considered the world\u2019s largest gathering of professionals dedicated to religious tourism, the event brings together national and international tour operators, travel agents, hoteliers and tourism entrepreneurs, fostering the exchange of experiences and the establishment of partnerships within this growing sector.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The opening session will be held on the morning of <strong>19 February<\/strong> at the <strong>Paul VI Pastoral Centre<\/strong> in F\u00e1tima and will feature the conference <em>\u201cPlaces of Faith: Memory, Spirituality and the Pilgrim\u2019s Experience in F\u00e1tima\u201d<\/em>, delivered by <strong>Marco Daniel Duarte<\/strong>, art historian and director of the Museum of the Sanctuary of F\u00e1tima. His presentation will address the development of the Sanctuary from the apparitions of 1916\u20131917 onwards, highlighting the importance of tangible and intangible heritage in shaping a unique experience for pilgrims and visitors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On <strong>20 February<\/strong>, the <strong>Centro Nacional de Cultura<\/strong> will take part in the presentation of the <strong>F\u00e1tima Walking Routes<\/strong> project to the hosted buyers attending the event, in a joint initiative with <strong>Turismo de Portugal<\/strong> and the <strong>Associa\u00e7\u00e3o Caminhos de F\u00e1tima<\/strong>.
