Fátima Walking Routes® App
Centro Nacional de Cultura launches the Fátima Walking Routes® App
The new Fátima Walking Routes® App presents itself as a self-guided walking route, allowing pilgrims and national and foreign visitors to experience a true cultural and spiritual itinerary, in an autonomous, engaging and sustainable way, experiencing the culture and beauty of our territory.
Developed by the Centro Nacional de Cultura (National Culture Centre), with the support of the Regional Tourism Authority of the Lisbon Region, the Fátima Walking Routes® App is available for free download for Android and iOS.
In this first phase, the app contains all the information about the Tagus Path, a 150-kilometre route that starts at Lisbon Cathedral and is structured into 6 journeys, corresponding to 6 days of walking to the Sanctuary of Fátima. By following the route on the map, you can find information on accommodation, useful contacts (health and safety), points of interest – museums, monuments, churches, gardens, etc., and places where you can get your Pilgrim’s Credential stamped.
The APP is constantly updated and also features a selection of News related to this cultural itinerary.
Soon, users will be able to raise alerts if they identify any problems along the route, which will be visible on the map and will be duly forwarded to the organisations responsible for maintaining these paths.
