Fátima Walking Routes in the spotlight at BTL Travel Market

Religious tourism attracted thousands of visitors at BTL 2024

Between 28 February and 3 March, thousands of visitors passed by the Religious Tourism Stand at the BTL Travel Market and were not indifferent to the spiritual atmosphere there.

Curated by the Municipality of Ourém, the space was the scene of intense and permanent activity, with a true cultural scope and which therefore attracted a large number of onlookers, but also devotees. Thirteen organisations joined forces with the Municipality of Ourém: the Municipality of Braga, the Municipality of Sardoal, the Municipality of Loulé, the Municipality of Vila Viçosa, the Municipality of Trancoso, the Municipality of Lamego, the Municipality of Pombal, Viana Festas (Viana do Castelo), the Municipality of Arcos de Valdevez, the Caminhos de Fátima Association, the National Centre for Culture, the Tourism Pastoral / SNBCI – National Secretariat for the Church’s Cultural Assets and ACISO.

The space, carefully organised, offered a wide range of unique experiences, highlighting the historical, cultural and religious riches of the territories and during the five days of BTL it became a meeting point for lovers of religious tourism, providing an environment conducive to exchanging experiences and establishing new partnerships. Together with all the associated organisations, the stand hosted presentations, tastings, round tables and talks, among other moments that gave visitors a comprehensive view of the cultural and spiritual richness of these territories.

The religious tourism stand at the BTL Travel Martek not only promoted the cultural and spiritual wealth, but also reinforced the municipality’s central position in the religious tourism panorama.
