Sanctuary of Fatima offers Christmas Concert

The musical event is scheduled for Sunday, December 17, at 3pm, at the Paul VI Pastoral Centre, with free admission.

The Paulo VI Pastoral Centre, in Fátima, will host the “Great Christmas Classics” concert on 17 December, at 3pm, by the Braga Philharmonic Orchestra, conducted by Filipe Cunha, with Catarina Araújo and Miguel Oliveira as soloists.

The initiative, promoted by the Sanctuary of Fátima as part of the programme for the 2023/2024 pastoral year, with the theme “Called to Encounter”, is free.

The Braga Philharmonic Orchestra emerged in 2014, from the Canto Daqui Cultural Association, and in 2019 it released its first disc entitled “Coração Cinéfilo”, recorded live at a concert at the Theatro Circo in Braga and made up of film soundtracks.

In December 2019, the orchestra toured China for 12 days, where it performed the “New Year’s Concert – Strauss & Friends”.

Conducted by Filipe Cunha from Braga, the Braga Philharmonic Orchestra is mostly made up of young people from Braga, thus giving them the “opportunity to work, experience and evolve”.

The Christmas concert can be followed via the digital media of the Sanctuary of Fátima.
